After Tatiana’s father dies of a heart attack in the middle of the night, she’s determined to pick up the last pieces of his disjointed life by starting with closing his beloved record store. That is until she’s confronted by Booker, a sharp 15-year-old her father took under his wing in her absence. No problem! Except that her father promised him the store just before he passed.
As the two push and pull each other, they slowly uncover a shared longing: to be seen, to be heard, and to be loved. Through tense debates, hard truths, and moments of unexpected vulnerability, Tatiana and Booker realize that moving forward may not be as cut and dry as they hoped.
Just for the Record is a soulful, sharp-tongued dramedy about finding a home in unlikely places, confronting what we inherit, and honoring both where we come from and who we’re becoming one connection at a time.
