W.I.G. – A ONE WOMAN SHOW is a musical piece that deals with the creator’s personal struggle with hair loss and her internal fight to accept her natural hair as an African-American woman. With powerful themes infused with song, dance, comedic and dramatic monologue— this production tells the story of the many “wigs” women wear. This exhibition shares how wigs serve as armor to deal with what life throws at them. Each wig has its own personality and its own tale to tell.

”The hair I wear is part of who I am,” Shelli explains. “I aim to shine a spotlight on this important issue in a fun, yet moving way that every audience can relate to.”
