From the Legacy Rising stage to a weekend in New York City! We were thrilled to send our monologue competition winners, Zara Di Lao and Nehanda Gaines, along with their parent chaperones, on a trip celebrating their talent, dedication, and accomplishments.
SBT sent the students to experience the magic of Broadway’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. While in New York, they also had the opportunity to see Jocelyn Bioh’s School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play, making the weekend even more special. Two distinct theatrical worlds, one exciting trip, and so much to take in as young artists!
It means so much to us to help students experience the possibilities of theatre beyond their own classrooms and stages. This trip offered a chance to celebrate how far they’ve come, encounter new stories, and imagine what might come next in their own creative journeys.
Congratulations again to Zara and Nehanda! We are so proud of the work you put into Legacy Rising and completely thrilled to have helped make this New York adventure possible.
