You’re invited to a free community screening of The Madame of Leimert at The WalkGood Yard on Sunday 6.29. Doors open at 7:30PM. Screening begins at 8PM with a panel to follow with writer and producer larryjean powell and Director Roger Q. Mason + some midnight cake and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy in celebrating larryjean’s birthday.

Recorded in July 2024 at the legendary “CBS Television City Studios”, this is a cinematic live capture of an unforgettable staged reading of a new work written by larryjean powell (fka Larry Powell). Set in Los Angeles, the piece follows a fictional pioneer of Black gay nightlife as he confronts a crossroads: continue mentoring the next generation, or finally pursue his own long-suppressed desires.
