The Velvet Interlude is an immersive live experience blending theatre, movement, poetry, visual art, and sound into an intimate exploration of masculinity, identity, memory, place, vulnerability, and voice.

Created by a collective of multidisciplinary artists, this is not a traditional performance. Audiences are invited to move through the space, engage with the work from multiple perspectives, and become part of the experience itself. Rooted in personal narrative and collective reflection, The Velvet Interlude offers an evening that is emotionally raw, visually immersive, and deeply human.

Produced through SHIFT Lab, the artist incubator of The Peace Studio — founded by author, educator, and cultural leader Maya Soetoro-Ng — the work reflects a commitment to storytelling, creative leadership, and community connection.
