Eight incredible young artists, and so much to celebrate! We’re thrilled to announce this year’s Legacy Rising monologue competition finalists: Ny’kell Hightower, Nehanda Gaines, Zara Di Lao, Samara Johnson, Jayden Hall, Donnivan Brandon, Lua Manhanga, and Rodney L. Jones III. Selected from a remarkable group of more than 70 auditions, these performers brought heart, imagination, and commitment to their performances, and we can’t wait to see how they grow in this next chapter.
Up next is our Sunday Academy sessions, where finalists will receive coaching, deepen their work with the plays, and build an ensemble rooted in connection and mutual support. This is a chance to stretch as artists, form friendships, and cheer one another on throughout the process.
It all culminates on July 11 at Ebony Repertory Theatre, when our finalists will take the stage before family, friends, and the greater community. We could not be prouder of this group and look forward to celebrating everything they bring to the stage!
