August Wilson’s Radio Golf

A Noise Within’s exploration of Pulitzer Prize winner August Wilson’s American Century Cycle jumps from its first play, Gem of the Ocean (produced by ANW as part of their 2019-20 season), to its last— Radio Golf, directed by Gregg T. Daniel.

Set in the 1990’s, Harmon Wilks, Pittsburgh’s first Black mayoral candidate, finds himself on the verge of the business breakthrough of a lifetime. The arrival of an unexpected visitor and surprising news leads Harmon to choose between his personal aspirations and his integrity. With humor and courage, Radio Golf challenges the steep price “progress” can exact upon the soul.
