Lula Washington Dance Theatre’s Annual Youth Recital

The Lula Washington Dance Theatre is proud to present its 2022-2023 Students in our Annual Youth Recital. Each year they pride themselves in presenting the next generation of young dancers, choreographers and creative thinkers.

All of their students get the benefit of working directly with Ms. Lula at some point in their development. Ms. Lula’s dynamic company dancers make up the bulk of teaching artists for the LWDT School. Additional Teaching Artists include those who are LWDT School, Youth Dance Ensemble and/or Company Alumni and/or longtime LWDT Affiliated Artists.

Their classes are small, which gives students the opportunity to learn in a focused environment at appropriate skill and maturity levels. This also allows the teachers to give more individual attention to each student.

Most of their students participate in a range of dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Caribbean and Hip-Hop. Their intermediate and advanced students study the Dunham Technique, Modern Dance Techniques including Horton, African Inspired Fusion Jazz, Pointe and partnering.

Students in their Professional Development Ensemble will perform LWDT excerpts from Repertoire and their own choreography!

The LWDT Annual Youth Recital is a family favorite that is fun for everyone and a great inspiration for young ones who may want to dance!
