In ever-hustling New York City, prestige-obsessed influencer Owen Raven rejects his father’s traditional career path. Facing financial ruin after his father’s death, Owen spins comedic deceptions that ultimately backfire and he finds that his internet-famous charms are no longer sufficient in sustaining both his material and inner world.

GOLDEN TONGUES series at LA Escena—a celebration of power, imagination, and diversity through new adaptations of plays from the Golden Age of Spanish Theater by contemporary Los Angeles playwrights. This edition features three remarkable voices in American theater: abe zapata jr., Nicholas Pilapil, and Roger Q. Mason.

LA Escena is back for its fifth edition!

Since 2018, the biennial festival—organized by UCLA’s Diversifying the Classics—has brought the best of Southern California theatre together with acclaimed performers from around the world to celebrate Hispanic classical theatre. This year, LA Escena will bring artists from Spain and Mexico to UCLA, along with exciting new works from Los Angeles playwrights. 

LA Escena performances at UCLA are free to attend, but tickets must be reserved in advance.
