Los Angeles has a sound all its own; rich, innovative, and deeply soulful and so much of that legacy can be traced to the extraordinary Reggie Andrews, composer, conductor, arranger, teacher, mentor, and musical visionary. From jazz to funk and beyond, generations of LA musicians were inspired and elevated by this multi-instrumentalist and hometown legend.

The William Grant Still Arts Center is proud to collaborate with Reggie’s daughters, Marla, Aisha, Dominique, Nia, and India to present Mystic Soil: From the Roots of Reggie Andrews, Father, Musician, Educator, Luminary. This special exhibition and educational program celebrates a beloved son of South Central Los Angeles, honoring both his profound musical contributions and the lasting impact he made as a father, teacher, and community leader.

They invite you to join in celebrating the roots, the resonance, and the remarkable legacy of Reggie Andrews.
