Writing With History is a six-week online creative sanctuary, a springtime gathering for writers who transform personal and collective history into powerful storytelling for stage, screen, and beyond.
Led by acclaimed playwright, Roger Q. Mason, this workshop is about writing as an act of radical care and collective liberation.
Workshop Description
We all write with histories in mind, whether it is the saga of our family, the secrets of the places we call home, or the unfolding story of our own self-creation. We process where we have been in order to build who we are becoming, and our writing becomes the bridge between the two.
Your past is not just a memory. It is a resource, a guide, and a source of creative power. Join us to transform your history into work that lives beyond you, on the stage, on the screen, and in the minds of audiences.
In this six-session intensive, you will learn how to activate your relationship to personal and collective history to create compelling work for theatre, film, television, and mixed media. This course is designed for writers who are ready to go deeper, sharpen their voice, and transform lived experience into powerful storytelling.
