In celebration of this year’s Black Theatre Day, our friends at Oshana Arts, Black Creators Collective, and Bottle Tree Theatre Company hosted a historic moment for LA Black theatre practitioners, on Saturday, September 13th at 1pm in front of the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center.
We gathered to take part in a community photo of LA’s Black theatre artists — an homage to the classic photograph known as “A Great Day in Harlem” which convened as many of the luminaries of the New York jazz scene as possible for Esquire’s 1959 Golden Age of Jazz edition.
It was truly a great day!
